The proposed appointment of Mr. Purves

to the post of Water Works Manager and the promotion

of Mr. Woodward to the post of Executive Manager

seem to me acceptable.

Hong Kong will have to make

other arrangements when Mr. Purves succeeds

Mr. Henderson as D.P.W. at the end of 1939, but I

can see no objection to the proposal in the

meantime.

paragraph 8, acknowledge and signify non-disallowance

of the Ordinance, and approve the appointments

proposed in paragraph 10.
